Foreword by Sonia Taylor
"Alex has been working with grassroots coaches and teachers for many years with great success. The development of her book 'coaching made easy' was born from her enthusiasm to ensure all teachers knew the up to date skills to be teaching their players from a young age. 'Coaching Made Easy' continued to grow to the detail it shows today, providing coaches and teachers the confidence and motivation to ensure netball is a popular and well delivered sporting programme in their schools.
I've worked with Alex as a player and also a coach and she is always looking at ways to motivate both the teams she plays with as well as the coaches who attend her workshops. I am inspired by her constant enthusiasm, professionalism and ability to motivate fellow coaches and teachers to ensure netball is a key feature in the curriculum.
Since Alex has returned from coaching in Australia, with some of the top national coaches at the Australian Institute of Sport, she has developed small 2 hour workshops which now cover Skills and Drills, Shooting and Defence as well as bespoke workshops delivered to clubs and schools. These courses are for teachers, coaches and players and provides, not only strong skills and drills but also constant reminders of 'why' the drills work so that teachers and coaches can get the best out of their players by fully involving them in the practices and the reasons behind the sessions. They don't just cover the 'what to' coach but also the 'how to coach' which is sometime forgotten in grassroots coaching.
Through her work with Quintic, it's great to see 'Coaching Made Easy' come to life as this provides a great aid for teachers, coaches and players and will hopefully build on Alex's aim of bringing more confidence to those teaching and coaching so that we continue to produce strong netball players from our school systems.
I wish Alex all the best"

Assistant Coach Brunel Hurricanes
Coach of Academy (National Club Winners 2007)
It is with great sadness that after being involved with the filming of Quintic Netball Player, Sonia Taylor was taken ill and passed away suddenly on Thursday 3rd Sept 09. Sonia was very well known not only in Middlesex where she was coach for Academy for many years, and Assistant Coach for Brunel Hurricanes last season. We shall miss her very much and will always remember the love, time and enthusiasm she gave to such a great game.
